William Talmadge ''Billy'' Moore, 85, of Wilmington, formerly of Roanoke Rapids, died Saturday, September 27, 2014.

Billy was born in Pelzer, SC to the late Charles Talmadge Moore and Gladys Bradley Moore Etheridge.

He was also preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Rose Cooksey Moore and his sister Grace McCoy.

He was a member of Rosemary United Methodist Church for many years and was retired from J.P. Stevens. He was an Eagle Scout and was a founding member of Boy Scout Troop 146 that is still in existence.

He is survived by his sister, Tha Jane Park of Winston Salem; niece, Paula M. Brown and her fiancé, Paul Hayes of Leland, NC; nephew, Charles H. ''Chuck'' McCLoy and his wife, Mimi of Rocky Mount; great niece, Kathryne M. Townsend and her husband, Kevin of Rochester, NY; great nephew, Evan M. Brown of Wilmington, NC.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 29, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Rosemary United Methodist Church with Rev. Bob Redmond officiating.

Interment will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.

The family will receive family and friends on Sunday, September 28, 2014 from 4:00 to 5:30 at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services.
